The tranquil beauty and intense colors found in our natural environment are the inspiration for my work. Living on the eastern end of Long Island, I take my designs from the beauty of the woodlands, bays and beaches of the area. I have found glass to be the medium that best reflects the intensity of color and the clarity of the light found locally in nature.

I strive to recreate these characteristics in my glass work with a mix of opaque and transparent glass. Using a 3mm sheet of glass as my canvas, I add glass which I've cut, frit, stringers and occasionally metal inclusions to create my designs. The pieces which I refer to as blocks consist of between eight and fourteen layers of glass. Working deep with many layers allows me to create three dimensional scenes drawing one into the landscape.
